WHAT I DID IN THE LAST FEW DAYS!

Now you have to compare this post to the last one for what was the whole of July.

Not only was this over just a few days and in a great many different locations but I am also ... re-familiarising myself with .. DRIVING!

I have not driven for a number of years so it has been not only strange but I am in a rather big car. As I was a good driver and worked within the car industry in the past, including Land Rover, it has always been a habit of mine to take things slow with any new car I drive until I familiarise myself with it, its handling and other things.

Due to the time since I last drove I have expanded this so that it is about 6 weeks. Soo .. the further afield, ahem field, trips will come later.

A shame that this has occurred now as it is very lat in the year. Many butterflies have long since finished or at their very taty ends.

We are mere weeks away from Autumn but I even have a plan for that period and .. another blog that I have that has been .. somewhat neglected.

Due to the fact I have so many blogs on so many subjects I have to start planning .. to get the most out of any trips I make.

However to achieve this I will require my next lot of .. items that should be acquired over the next week .. if I can shake this very silly psychological issue, or block, that I seem to have developed? I have to .. well .. force myself presently. Lol.

Very bizarrely in one car park I bumped into an old friend who used to work with animals but is a Policeman these days. As I was about to figure out why my GPS had taken me to the wrong car park upon getting back to my car I heard someone shout "What are you here for?!" and I turned to answer only to see this old friend smiling back at me, with his head on upside down. Long beard and no hair if you did not pick up on that, lol.

He used to own a Land Rover and he spotted mine and we chatted about the roman history of the woods, the wildlife and of course . Land Rovers.

Here are some photos and videos of the last few days ...

VIDEOS of SILVER WASHED FRITILLARY - ARGYNNIS PAPHIA

Again sorry about quality I was using my crappy, faulty and refurbished Motorola Atrix Dumb-Phone sold to me as a brand new phone by Very Catalogue, lol.

I was picked up while out on my bike and thought my camera was in my backpack, lol.

That there is my brother Ryan you can see in the still At the same site he found some Puss Moth Caterpillars at another visit about 5 days beforehand. I discovered they were Sallow Kittens when I got home I messaged him about this and I freely admit that in the area of ALL INVERTEBRATES by knowledge is barley above minimal.

When I read his reply I though 'ooh he dont like that and I will lave him to discover it for himself.'

This day while out I was ribbing him about it and it was damned funny and you will probably catch those remarks about it. Apparently his response on better research was 'ooooh BALLACKS!!!' LMAO!

The third video is when Ryan realises that the butterflies whizzing past we thought were Commas and I later said 'Ryan I do not think they are Commas I have seen hundreds in the last few weeks these are something else!' but carried on thinking I was mistaken.

Just before that over excited pursuit of an over excited butterfly Ryan called me and said 'Marti, Martin, Martin get over here quick I am having a heart attack there is a Fritillary!!' To which I immediately dropped whatever it was I was doing and raced over!

That is about as excited I think I have ever got about a Butterfly sighting...well for about 30 minutes or so when Ryan and I saw a big dark Butterfly fly over our heads and then land on a leaf only to realise it was a White Admiral!

SILVER WASHED FRITILLARY - ARGYNNIS PAPHIA

Apologies for the picture quality and movie quality but...

I did not know I was going on this trip...

Was in a friends store on my bike, which came with us...

I THOUGHT my camera was in my backpack, lol.

Oh and we had no idea that we would end up seeing Silver Washed Fritillaries, White Admirals, Marbled Whites, something else we could not identify it looked like a big light Speckled Wood, lol.

Now there was something... else too... oh yeah a Lobster Moth Caterpillar!

Same site as the Sallow Kitten caterpillars.
