ORANGE TIP BUTTERFLY

Yes!

FINALLY!

Well ... not quite ... not just yet!

But watch this video and around 3.18 into it watch how I am taking about an educated guess that I may see an Orange Tip Butterfly in my secret butterfly path and then get bloody buzzed by one from behind before it flies around my left side waist high and right in front of the damned camera?!

Yeah I just love how nature can take the ... I mean, ahem, surprise you in the most unexpected ways!

A SPIKY CATERPILLAR

From my young days with a younger brother and if memory serves me well this distant, from me, caterpillar may well be a Peacock. I am sure spikes and nettles rings bells of Peacocks? Probably Small Tortoiseshells?! LOL!

SHOW US YOUR WINGS, SKIPPER!

A Skipper Butterfly and I was sure there was another butterfly of similar colour but a little bigger?

For those Butterfly enthusiasts into the finer details of said things this other Butterfly had the typical ... bounce in its flight that I did not think Skippers performed? Think of a White or a Brown in flight and it was like that. This was quite close to some Bee Orchids and some Pyramidal Orchids I was filming.

CLOUDED YELLOW BUTTERFLY - COLIAS CROCEA

Look very carefully at the first two, lol.

I could not resist going out and I had figured that the MET OFFICE here in the UK will get the weather wrong for the eleventy millionth time and I am glad I did ignore there USELESS app?! We were supposed to have clear blue skies Monday and Tuesday which they changed both the predictions of on the mornings in question.

TODAY was supposed to be CLOUDY all day!! These following pictures were the only clouds I saw!!

LMAO!!

Oh an videos to come too.

A little North of the White Water Rapids Centre in Lea Valley Park. Oddly an area I should be keeping an eye on as I have covered it previously as they had dug it all up, put soil down and plated many strange plants many non natives too, lol.

HOLLY BLUE ON HOLLY EGG LAYING & MATING

Was cycling along planning not to go far and didn't (still in pain when I got home) and just as I was still on the River Lea I spotted something.

Small light bluish butterfly fluttered past me and up towards a bridge. At these points my brain now says right a Blue Butterfly or a Hairstreak Butterfly! I walks up onto the bridge and managed to see more than half a dozen of them and then realized they was n a Holly Bush, lol. They were also mating and laying eggs.

VIDEO of FEMALE MEADOW BROWN BUTTERFLY

VIDEO of SMALL COPPER BUTTERFLY

How bloody stunning is this?! LOL.

SMALL COPPER BUTTERFLY - LYCAENA PHLAEAS

Pictures with the new Nikon P520 are pretty good but alas I have yet ANOTHER faulty camera from Argos and I have ripped crap out of Argos and Nikon over all this and have filmed and recorded it all and posted it up, oh deary me lol.

Quite unexpectedly and in very close proximity were two butterflies I have got shots of previously but wanted more.

One was the Small Copper Butterfly amd one little fellow decided to give me more and right with a brand new faulty and refurbished Nikon P520 camera from Argos, third in a row, just ast the camera decided to play nicely, lol.

There is also a video coming and in a higher definition than I have been doing of late and @, 1080.

SILVER WASHED FRITILLARY - ARGYNNIS PAPHIA

Apologies for the picture quality and movie quality but...

I did not know I was going on this trip...

Was in a friends store on my bike, which came with us...

I THOUGHT my camera was in my backpack, lol.

Oh and we had no idea that we would end up seeing Silver Washed Fritillaries, White Admirals, Marbled Whites, something else we could not identify it looked like a big light Speckled Wood, lol.

Now there was something... else too... oh yeah a Lobster Moth Caterpillar!

Same site as the Sallow Kitten caterpillars.

WHITE ADMIRAL - LIMENITIS CAMILLA

Got a but of a shock when a large butterfly buzzes past us and then rests nearby. We then spot that it is a slightly tatty version of one of the two butterflies that are known to be found here.

This here is the White Admiral Butterfly and the one we have still yet to see is the Purple Emperor Butterfly.

Only the Purple Emperor to go then?!
