LOL...

WHITE ADMIRAL - LIMENITIS CAMILLA
Got a but of a shock when a large butterfly buzzes past us and then rests nearby. We then spot that it is a slightly tatty version of one of the two butterflies that are known to be found here.
This here is the White Admiral Butterfly and the one we have still yet to see is the Purple Emperor Butterfly.
Only the Purple Emperor to go then?!

HOLLY BLUE BUTTERFLY - CELASTRINA ARGIOLUS
I got fifty yards and I was called back by my brother Ryan because he had spotted Purple Hairstreak Butterflies.
PURPLE HAIRSTREAK BUTTERFLY - NEOZEPHYRUS QUERCUS
He has just spotted a Holly Blue Butterfly, next post, which I then went sprinting after due to only getting one photo. I was 50 yards away when he asked me to return with the camera and he spotted these.
I passed the camera to him and he sot these pictures and a couple of videos over on my YouTube account.

GOOD PHOTO THAT DAY OF GATEKEEPER
Now this was in a meadow on the edge of Whitewebbs Golf Course and yet this was about the fourth time I had been there and yet the first time I had seen a Gatekeeper there?! Not only did I see this one but there were hundreds of Gatekeepers it seemed?!
LMAO!
I think they must appear now and I just so happened to have been there before they appeared, or emerged from their chysalis', and started seeing them elsewhere during their emergence before returning to Whitewebbs to see they were everywhere there too?!
Also I saw something I have just remembered I need to look for, to things in fact!!
The first was large, a fraction bigger than a Red Admiral, and was dark but with the reddish of a Gatekeeper but darker and brighter on all four wings. Kind of marbled pattern possibly and I only spotted TWO of these butterflies. They were among a huge mass of bramble which was adjacent to a line of trees. When I disturbed them they flew across me edging into the meadow circled around my back and fluttered over the top of the mass of Bramble again before disappearing. So I need to go back for the Broad Bodied Chaswer and these guys and hopefully more of them will appear and I only caught them at the beginning. Hmm I will look at a Butterfly site and see what looks like what I saw and put it here below.
The other thing was a Moth looking insect that was not only light coppery red all over even in flight but flew like an absolute BULLET. IN shape in flight it was wide looking, like that of the Yellow Shell Moth post.

COMMA BUTTERFLY - POLYGONIA C-ALBUM
It was being territorial and chasing away all comers and hardly stayed still for a moment except for a couple of times when I got photographs and a video of it!
Jagged edges to the wings make it look like it has been in and out of the dogfight from hell, lol.
COOL!!

MEADOW BROWN BUTTERFLY
Another Meadow Brown Butterfly and a great deal of them about this year.
In fact the past couple of days the heat had been exhausting and despite them stating 24 degrees it felt a great deal warmer than that and 70% of the butterflies have been Meadow Browns the rest a spilt between Speckled Woods and Ringlets.
Saw one Large White Butterfly.
Very few of anything else about so I am guessing they have a better handle of the heat.
Annoying but I saw something copper coloured and possibly a Gatekeeper to but did not see where the landed, if they landed at all?!

THE RINGLET BUTTERFLY - APHANTOPUS HYPERANTUS Part One (Video and Photos)
These butterflies I had been seeing everywhere that I thought were Speckled Woods as I had taken shot before and these ones I had only seen the under side of the wings turn out to be something else entirely, lol.
I did think that just a different sex was all it was. AS I knew there were two Brown Butterflies, the Speckled Wood and the Meadow Brown, I just thought it would be one sex I was not familiar with, lol.

VIDEO of COMMON BLUE BUTTERFLY - POLYOMMATUS ICARUS
I will now start to focus on Butterflies and Moths a great deal more for the rest of the summer....that is IF it ever arrives?! LOL.
DAY OF THE ORCHIDS - COMMON BLUE BUTTERFLY - POLYOMMATUS ICARUS
If these captures had been spread over two long days I still would refer to them as the two most productive days I had EVER had!! But these were all in a single day and I would have acquired more had I not become exhausted and had eaten something BEFORE I ventured out or even just into the park itself?!
LMAO

VIDEOS of SPECKLED WOOD BUTTERFLIES - PARARGE AEGERIA
Well until it was over and then they realised I was there, lol.

SPECKELD WOOD BUTTERFLY - PARARGE AEGERIA TIRCIS
Spotted when two were squabbling in mid air and did not care that I was there at all?! I
Then after a 5 minute battle of the bulge one landed and then it DID CARE that I was there and I could not get the right angle to get some good shots.
The light spots looked iridescent in the sunshine and in all honesty they looked a rusty red when in battle probably due to the lighter colours beneath their wings.
Also I did not know what this species was called and I have to rely on family members to give me names of insects, lol.
