VIDEOS of SPECKLED WOOD BUTTERFLIES - PARARGE AEGERIA

Those impressive, to me, Speckled Wood Butterflies two of which were squabbling all around me and were more concerned with their dogfight than me.

Well until it was over and then they realised I was there, lol.

Apologies for the bad shots and I hope to get more of this species.

Spotted when two were squabbling in mid air and did not care that I was there at all?! I

Then after a 5 minute battle of the bulge one landed and then it DID CARE that I was there and I could not get the right angle to get some good shots.

The light spots looked iridescent in the sunshine and in all honesty they looked a rusty red when in battle probably due to the lighter colours beneath their wings.

Also I did not know what this species was called and I have to rely on family members to give me names of insects, lol.
